of noesis. At first it reminded me of the Minoan Snake goddess's eyes:

She's associated with KNOSSOS, which is also associated with gnosis.
The photo (especially the way you painted on the eyelid) also reminded me of the eye of Shiva:

But what completes the image/idea for me is the sudden thought of what happens when you
open your eye -- the eye on the eyelid goes back into the head and see's what's inside -- INSIGHT.
