52 week project

Journal Entry: Mon Dec 31, 2012, 4:02 AM

Hello! :aww:

I'm starting my 52 week project this week. New year, new camera, new… me? I don't know, but hopefully, I'll improve. I'll try to make my ideas as original as possible, that's why I don't want to force myself to do a 365 days project.

I'll post the whole project here so keep an eye out this week. :D

I wish you all a happy New Year and have fun tonight! :blowkiss:

Lots of love

B.

I finally (AFTER A YEAR) took some time to check out my watchers (I had like 8.000+ activity messages) and to watch some of you back.

Please don't thank me for watching you, I should be the one thanking you and this is my thank you for everything.

So, thank you for watching me, adding my art to your favourites, commenting, being nice to me and all that. :D I'm sorry if I didn't reply to your comments, I do read them, but rarely have the time to answer them all.

I hope you're being more productive than I am.

Keep being awesome!

Journal Entry: Tue Dec 6, 2011, 2:59 PM

Hello my dear friends and watchers!
I'm sorry that I've been away for so long, but classes are killing me. Hopefully, I'll have more time during the winter holidays to answer all the comments and to check out my new watchers. Since I have 30.000 messages in my inbox, it will probably go a bit slower because I want to see all the amazing artworks that you've been uploading while I was busy.

I'd also like to thank everyone who commented and/or faved my newest DD. :tighthug:

I want to thank =GraphiteColours for suggesting and `DemonMathiel for featuring it.

Hopefully, I'll spend more time on here and stalk you all soon.

Take care!

First of all, the fuck is this. I haven't been on dA for almost a week and I'm sooooooo terribly sorry because I don't reply to my messages. They're still in my inbox and I'll probably reply in the next couple of days, hopefully.
I'm very busy. I have classes all day and I have to study and I kind of have some form of social life. :noes:

I'm so tired I could really sleep anywhere right now. Good thing I'm at home. :D

Take care guys! :blowkiss:

I don't know how long I'll stay.
I don't really know anything, except the fact that I'm going away.
I hope you're all having a great summer and that you're enjoying the freedom while you can. ;)
So here's a small feature to cheer you up because I know you'll be sad because of me leaving. :B

So, last week I've found an add on a Croatian website about Yashica mat 124g. I was so excited when I called and a lady answered the phone and said that it was not sold. :squee: She said it was in perfect condition. And it is. ;)

It's on my desk and I'm looking at it right now. :D

...when people who don't know a thing about fake blood make comments like "the blood looks fake".

A short rant about comments on deviantART. (Skip it if you don't really care. ;))

So okay, I rarely see good horror stuff on here, mostly because my inbox is full of fluffy cats and stuff, but I used to browse the most popular monthly horror and macabre deviations and they got a bit boring lately. I have a certain taste in horror stuff (don't we all); I prefer seeing a good horror photo with the emphasis on psychological aspect of the terror than a violent and gory photo (sort of like Asian ghost movies, rather than American bloody ones). I do enjoy a good gory photo, don't get me wrong, if the photo is generally well done, I'll probably like it. I stopped browsing the h&m gallery because I got super mad whenever I was reading the comments, mostly because ignorant people write ignorant comments. :dummy: At least one comment says "the blood looks fake".
You browse their gallery.
You find
ONE PHOTO
ONLY ONE
with blood in it
and guess what.
IT
LOOKS
FAKE.
No, it doesn't look fake, it looks beyond fake, like they used their spit after chewing a cherry favored bubble gum. You've seen that much blood only in movies, and guess what, it was fake. If your arm has been chopped off, I wouldn't say a thing. Or if you're a surgeon and see a shitload of blood every day and know how it really looks like. I rarely notice if the blood in a good horror photo looks fake. Do you know why? Because it's a bloody good photo and I couldn't care less if the blood looked like ketchup, it would still be a great photo.

How about you make a good horror photo yourself? :)
How about whenever you decide to click on that little comment box and type "it looks fake", you go out and make some fake blood yourself and take a damn good photo?

Also, comments like "there is too much horror stuff featured on dA"... :|
I'm sorry, there are too many portraits on dA, too much landscapes, street photography, conceptual art, macro, anime, photomanips, drawings, literature, digital art, etc. Wait, I thought this was an art website. Silly me.

Yes, I'm talking about today's horror DD. :aww: The photo is splendid, it's just my cup of tea and I encourage you to browse today's DDs and see it yourself. :)

:star::iconthat--feeling: #That--Feeling is a photographic group that I've founded 8 months ago, on Sep 30, 2010.

:star:We are trying to collect photographs that will never leave you indifferent; photos that evoke emotions, that make you feel connected to the photographer, model, those photos that make you say "wow".

:star:After a couple of months of getting used to everything and organizing stuff, me and my co-founders, !matildaSStockings and ~CrisRaquel, have came up with a way to promote our members - "I want to be a Star" mini-contests.

:star:At first, we've been selecting our Stars weekly, but decided it would be better if it was a bi-weekly event.

:star:Prizes for Stars include 2 week long features on founder's profile page, journal features, llamas and interviews (which is more like a Q&A thing).

:star:If anyone is willing to donate a prize, we would be really grateful.

:star:We're also collecting points so we can upgrade to Super Group so we can offer our Stars even more exposure on our group's main page and post our own polls (we have to redirect members to vote). If you'd like to help us by donating points, you can do it here [link]

Hello!

Hello and welcome to my little html tutorial. I've been working with html codes for a couple of years and I'm going to teach you what I know about using some basic html on deviantART. This won't make you a html expert or something and I'm not an expert myself but it will give just enough knowledge to make your journals, comments, news articles and other neat and lovely looking. :)

deviantART actually has FAQs about html but I still wanted to do this because they look a bit unorganized, in my opinion. Also, why would you want to look for those FAQs when you can just open this news article where you have everything in one place? :dummy:

You may already know some of these, but I hope you'll find at least something helpful in this news article.

Some basic html

:bulletorange:Bold text: <b>insert text here</b>

:pointr: Result: Example text
:pointr:This html code will work in: journal entries, group blogs, comments, artist's comments, news articles, notes and probably everywhere.

:bulletyellow:Italic text: <i>insert text here</i>

:pointr: Result: Example text
:pointr:This html code will work in: journal entries, group blogs, comments, artist's comments, news articles, notes and probably everywhere.

:bulletorange:Underlined text: <u>insert text here</u>

:pointr: Result: Example text
:pointr:This html code will work in: journal entries, group blogs, comments, artist's comments, news articles, notes and probably everywhere.

:bulletyellow:Strike: <strike>insert text here</strike>

:pointr: Result: Example text
:pointr:This html code will work in: journal entries, group blogs, comments, artist's comments, news articles, notes and probably everywhere.

:bulletorange:Subscript: insert text here

:pointr: Result: Example text
:pointr:This html code will work in: journal entries, group blogs, comments, artist's comments, news articles, notes and probably everywhere.

:bulletyellow:Superscript: insert text here

:pointr: Result: Example text
:pointr:This html code will work in: journal entries, group blogs, comments, artist's comments, news articles, notes and probably everywhere.

:pointr:Also, it's good to know: You can use and as many times you want to make your text even smaller. insert text here
:pointr:Result: Tiny text

:bulletorange:Small text: <small>insert text here</small>

:pointr:This html code will work in: journal entries, group blogs, comments, artist's comments and notes.

:bulletyellow:Blockquote: <blockquote>insert text here</blockquote>

:pointr: Result:
Example text

:pointr:This html code will work in: journal entries, group blogs, comments, artist's comments, news articles, notes and probably everywhere.

:bulletorange:Centering text: <div align="center">insert text here

:pointr:Result:
Example text

:pointr:This html code will work in: journal entries, group blogs and news articles. It won't work in notes, comments and artist's comments. It used to work in artist's comments, but for some reason, it doesn't any more.
:pointr:Also, it's good to know: you can replace "center" with "right" ("left" would be useless since it's default.)

:pointr:Result:
Example text

:pointr:This html code will work in: journal entries, group blogs, comments, artist's comments, news articles.

:bulletyellow:Horizontal line: <hr>

:pointr:Result:

:pointr:This html code will work in: journal entries, group blogs, comments, artist's comments, news articles and notes.

Font size - headings

:bulletorange:Headings:Since you can't actually change the font size with normal font size html codes, you'll need to use headings. There are 6 headings types:
<h1>Example text</h1>
<h2>Example text</h2>
<h3>Example text</h3>
<h4>Example text</h4>
<h5>Example text</h5>
<h6>Example text</h6>

:pointr:Result:

Example text

Example text

Example text

Example text

Example text

Example text

:new::pointr: This code will work in (premium) journals, news articles, artist's comments and special boxes on user's profile. It will not work in comments.

:bulletyellow:Code: Used for defining computer code, but deviants just use it to change their font. <code>Insert text here</code>

:pointr:Result: Example text
:pointr:This html code will work pretty much everywhere, I think. I don't use it that often so I'm not sure, but considering the popularity of it, I think it works everywhere.

Links and photos

:bulletorange:Including links to pages: <a href="insert url here">text that will be clickable</a>

:pointr: Result: Here's a link to deviantART
:pointr:This html code will work in: journal entries, group blogs, comments, artist's comments, news articles, but will not work in group notes.

:bulletyellow:Including photos: <a href="Insert link to the page where the photo is originally coming from"><img src="Insert link to photo"></a>
:pointr:This html code will work in: Premium journal entries, Super group blogs, custom boxes.

:bulletorange:Using big thumbs: <a href="Insert link address here"><img src="Insert Image URL here" width="Insert the desired width of the photo"></a>
:pointr:This html code will work in: journal entries (for premium members only), Super group blogs and custom boxes.

:pointr:To copy a link address, you need to go to the page of the photo you want to link and copy the address in the address bar of your browser. To copy image URL, you need to right click on the photo itself and select Copy image location if you use Firefox or something that implies that you're copying the location of the photo if you're using other browsers. The maximum size of a dA thumbnail is 150×150 which is rather small. Using 300 or 400 or even 500 pixels won't ruin your profile page if you're planning to use this in a journal, but bigger sizes will. The photos might even be cropped, depending on the size of your monitor and the size of the thumb.

:bulletyellow:Description pop-up:You can also include little pop-up text to your links by using this code:
<acronym title="popup text"><a href="insert url here">text that will be clickable</a></acronym>

:pointr:Result: deviantART

Combining codes

:bulletorange:You can also combine as many codes as you want. Let's say that the letter A is a start code and /A is the end code, and B is a different code that ends with /B, the same thing goes for C - /C and D - /D. The correct closing order goes like this: A B C D insert text here /D/C/B/A.
For example; here's a subscripted text that's bold, underlined, strike, italic, centerd and contains a link:
This won't be easy to read, but you get the point. Here's a link to dA again.

My code for this was:
<div align="center"><b><i><u><strike>This won't be easy to read, but you get the point. <a href="[link]">Here's a link to dA again.</a></strike></u></i></b></div>

I just wanted to show you all how ridiculously long and confusing this looks but it's really, really easy so don't be afraid of it.

Special characters

Here is the link to the special characters that you will probably use rarely. On the other hand, if you're ever planing to create a plz account or if you need to demonstrate html, these are the most common ones that you'll use:

:bulletyellow:Less-than sign: &lt;
:pointr:Result: <

:bulletorange:More-than sign: &gt;
:pointr:Result: >

:bulletyellow:Colon &#58;
:pointr:Result: :

Thumbs and username and icon tags

This isn't really html, but you'd be surprised how many people doesn't know how this works.

:bulletorange:Usernames: :devusername:, e.g. :devshaplz:
:pointr:Result: ~Shaplz

:bulletyellow:User icons: :iconusername: (that's how the plz accounts work), e.g. :iconshaplz:
:pointr:Result: :iconshaplz:

:pointr:You can also use these for linking groups.

:bulletorange:Thumbnails:Including thumbnails is very easy because all you need to do is copy the code located on the right side of each deviation. It's under "Share" part of the deviations, below groups and above "Details" and "Statistics".
There is a "Thumb" box with the code that usually looks something like this :thumb208669995:
:pointr:Result:

Remember

:bulletyellow: It's very important to close your tags with "</>" because the rest of the text will have the same effect like the one you wanted to point out.

:bulletorange: Also, always hit "preview" button before you post a comment/journal entry/etc. no matter how sure you are you got it right.

:bulletyellow: If a deviant gets carried away with or tags, remember to

keep calm
and
zoom the page

:bulletorange: Remember that nobody knows all the tags by heart so don't be afraid to fave this article and visit whenever you need. ;)

:bulletyellow: If you ever need some help with html, remember that Google is your friend.

:bulletorange: If you know some other html codes that can be used on dA, feel free to share them. I never said I knew everything about this, I'm just here to share my knowledge. :aww:

I hope this helped!

Online SLR Camera Simulator

Journal Entry: Thu May 12, 2011, 2:08 PM

WTF? - My thoughts exactly.
I don't really have time to be online as often as I used to because I need to study a lot, but I've found this interesting link today that might help you understand SLRs a bit better.
It doesn't matter if you've just bought a DSLR or if you already have it but you use auto mode all the time, this is a useful simulator and will definitely help you understand the basic settings.
[link]

I've played around for a couple of minutes and figured that some of you might find it helpful so I decided to share it with you.

Have fun! :blowkiss:
